Processing

In-house production system

Production at FB Tanks is managed in-house and structured according to qualified, recognized, and certified procedures.

The production system includes:

  • project or order planning and management
  • material procurement and traceability
  • execution of workshop operations
  • inspections, checks, and final testing

This approach ensures traceability, consistency, and product quality.

Material procurement and traceability

It is a critical phase of the production process. Each incoming material is checked against the technical specifications through MTR (Mill Test Report) certificates.

Traceability is ensured through marking or stamping of components, guaranteeing that each part can be traced back to the original production batch.

CNC-controlled cutting

FB Tanks performs CNC cutting (plasma and flame) with excellent precision, even for the most complex geometries, on both carbon steel and stainless steel.

The system allows sheet cutting up to 2500 × 6500 mm, ensuring dimensional accuracy, edge quality, and reliable preparation for the subsequent stages of the production process.

Industrial carpentry

FB Tanks performs industrial carpentry operations integrated into its in-house production process, supporting the manufacture of pressure equipment.

The activities include:

  • beveling of pipes, sheets, and plates by grinding or milling the edges to obtain the chamfer required to ensure proper weld penetration
  • rolling of sheets, to achieve the required geometry and produce cylindrical shells (courses)
  • fit-up and alignment of parts (shells, heads, nozzles), carried out with millimetric precision
  • tack welding of components, using localized temporary welds to keep the parts in position during the subsequent stages

Dimensional inspection ensures execution accuracy and consistency with the design requirements.

Welding

It is the most technically complex phase. FB Tanks applies qualified welding procedures on carbon steel and stainless steel, following WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) specifications, with certified personnel and fully traceable processes.

Available technologies:

  • MIG/MAG (GMAW) – for structural fabrications and medium-to-high thicknesses
  • Submerged Arc (SAW) – for large thicknesses and structural welds
  • TIG (GTAW) – for precision welding on critical components
  • Automated TIG (ForceTIG) – for high repeatability and control
  • Orbital TIG for tube sheets – for heat exchangers

NDT inspections

Non-destructive testing is planned according to the project specifications, applicable regulations, and required certifications, ensuring full traceability of the activities performed.

The operations are carried out by qualified personnel; the inspection results are documented and included in the project documentation, supporting the subsequent verification stages and final testing.

To ensure the integrity of the изделие, tests are carried out that do not damage the structure, such as:

  • Radiographic testing (RT) or ultrasonic testing (UT) on welds.
  • Penetrant testing (PT) or magnetic particle testing (MT) for the detection of surface defects.

Testing

Testing is the final phase of the production process and is aimed at verifying the overall compliance of the equipment with technical, regulatory, and safety requirements.

The Quality Department plans and coordinates testing activities in accordance with the Quality Control Plan (QCP), ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable regulations. Where required, inspections are carried out with the support of recognized third parties.
