ASME U STAMP pressure vessels for acids for US steel plant

Today we shipped some pressure tanks with final destination United States of America ASME U STAMP certified.

“Acid tanks” are containers designed for the safe storage of aggressive chemicals such as acids, used in various industries and laboratories.

These tanks must resist corrosion and wear caused by contact with acids and other hazardous chemicals.

For this reason, they are made of highly resistant materials such as special stainless steels (such as AISI 316L stainless steel), often coated with additional protection.

In our case, No. 3 tanks were made of carbon steel quality ” A 516 GR.70 ” painted on the outside,
with a special inner coating of ebonite, a special rubber that is vulcanized in an autoclave at high temperature,
to safeguard the durability of the tanks themselves over time from the corrosive attack of the acids it contains.

Main features:

  • Corrosion-resistant materials: pressure vessels must resist the effect of acids, so the materials used are selected for their chemical resistance.
  • Shape and size: They can vary as needed, from small laboratory tanks to large industrial tanks.
  • Safety systems: May include safety valves, ventilation systems and internal protective coverings.
  • Safety regulations: Must meet specific safety standards and environmental regulations to ensure safe use and prevent spills or contamination.

The use of acid tanks is common in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, and industrial manufacturing. In our specific case, these tanks

will be used in the chemical industry with the function of containing highly corrosive acids.

All of our tanks before being shipped are subjected to a whole series of inspection tests called non-destructive testing (NDT),

such as RT, Ultrasonic, hardness tests, PMI that are carried out to check that everything has been carried out properly and there are no manufacturing defects.
